Deobandi scholar asks Muslims to pray in neighbourhood mosques on Holi

Maulana Qari Ishaq Gora, the patron of Jamiat Daawatul Muslimeen in Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, and a famous Deobandi scholar, has appealed to Muslims to offer Friday prayers in their neighborhood mosques on the day of Holi.

Advising the Muslims to stay at home and offer prayers on the day as the Festival of Colours falls on Friday in the fasting month of Ramzan. While Hindus are in a moodof revelry on this day, Muslims keep a dawn to dusk fast and offer congregtional prayers on the first Friday of Ramzan.

He also said that Muslims should not go out unnecessarily and avoid causing any kind of dispute or misunderstanding.

Maulana Qari Ishaq Gora issued a video statement saying, "Ours' is a country in which people of different religions live and everyone celebrates their festivals happily according to their religious freedom.

It is the beauty of this country that people of all religions celebrate their festivals and traditions with mutual respect."

He also underlined that India was unique as people of every religion are free to celebrate their festivals in a peaceful and harmonious manner.

Maulana further said that Darul Uloom Deoband, a major institution of Islamic teachings in India, has also appealed to Muslims to maintain restraint and peace on the day of Holi.

Darul Uloom has asked Muslims to keep the environment around them peaceful and avoid causing disputes.

He said Muslims should offer Friday prayers in their nearest mosques on Holi. During this time, they should carry out their daily religious activities with complete peace and patience. After this, they should stay in their homes pray, and avoid participating in any kind of unnecessary activity.

Maulana Gora said that to maintain peace and harmony in society, Muslims must behave as responsible citizens.

Maulana Gora also said that Muslims should present the best example of Islamic education through their teachings and conduct. He said, "We should show others through our actions and thoughts so that people realise that Islam is a religion of peace and Muslims play their role in society to maintain brotherhood." He also stressed that Muslims should follow their religion and walk on this path with sincerity."

Maulana also said in his speech that Muslims should not participate in any unnecessary activity. They should not become a part of any dispute under any circumstances and should not promote any misunderstanding or tension. He especially appealed to avoid the chaos and unnecessary clashes that take place at some places on the day of Holi.

Maulana Gora said that it is the duty of Muslims to maintain an atmosphere of brotherhood and peace through their conduct. He also believes that Islam has given us the message of living with restraint, tolerance, and peace, and we should fully implement it in our lives.
