26 JMI faculty in the list of world's 2% top scientists

In a remarkable achievement, 26 researchers from Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) University have been included in Stanford University's list of the world's top 2% scientists.

This list is a significant recognition in the academic world and serves as a testament to the high-quality research being conducted at JMI.

Stanford University released two separate lists. One focuses on career-long contributions, while the other zeroes in on the performance of researchers for the year 2022.

Seven professors from JMI have been named in both lists. These professors are Ali, Imran Ahsan, Haseeb Ghosh, Sushant G Rahman, Atiqur Ahmad, Sharif Ahmad, and Tokeer Islam.

Eight professors were featured in the 'career' list, including Ali, Imran Ahsan, Haseeb Ghosh, Sushant G. Rahman, Atiqur Sen, Anjan A. Ahmad, Sharif Ahmad, Tokeer Islam, and Tarikul.

The 'single year-2020' list included professors like Imran Haleem, Abid Javaid, Mohd Ghosh, Atiqur Ahsan, Haseeb Hassan, Md Imtaiyaz Ahmad, Rafiq Raza, Khalid Khan, Tabrez Alam Ahmad, Sharif Khan, M Ajmal Talukdar, Swapan Ahmad, Tokeer Chaudhry, Saif Ali, Rashid Ahmad, Musheer Siddiquee, Arshad Noor Patel, Rajan Riaz, Ufana Islam, Tarikul Mohammad, Taj Haque, Ahteshamul Khanuja, M Naqvi, and Ahmad Abu Turab Anas.

Vice Chancellor of JMI, Prof. Najma Akhtar saidthat this recognition reflects the exceptional research standards upheld at JMI and establishes the university on the global map of academic excellence.

The list from Stanford University features approximately 3,500 researchers from India.

The list is basedon a publicly available database of over 9.6 million top scientists, which includes standardized information on citations, h-index, and other metrics.
