Maulana Mahmood Madani, president of Jamiat Ulema-e Hind, is against calling Hindus Kafir (infidels). He says, “It is a terminology; It has been decided long ago that if someone is hurt by being called a kafir, then he should not be called so… “.

Speaking on a Television channel, Maulana Madani praised the foreign policy of the Modi government. He said there should be no parsimony in showering praises on the government’s foreign policy. He said it’s after a long time that India’s foreign policy is being played out as an independent one.

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his leadership, Madani said that PM Modi has demonstrated that India will not bow down to any country

Responding to a question on the issue of Azaan and the use of loudspeakers, Madani said that there is no harm in removing the loudspeaker from the mosque for Azaan. It is right to use a loudspeaker in a low tone. Praising UP Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath, Madani said, his government has implemented the same rules for all sections. “It’s wrong to target only a specific class,” he said.

On the hijab issue, Madani said that Muslim girls should not be stopped from studying because of the hijab. He said that Muslims should focus on the education of children for 20 years. Apart from this, he said “Urdu is our mother tongue, but we all must work for the development and upliftment of Hindi.

Madani said, "There has been a (positive) change in the lives of Muslims in the recent past, although some problems continue to exist the changes cannot be denied."

On receiving government money for the madrasa, Maulana Madani said that the government should stop giving money to the madrassa. Why do madrassas need government money? If the government wants to uplift any community it should build schools. If any community wants to run its madrasa or gurukul, then it should run it with its money.
