Earthquake tremors in Delhi and adjoining areas

Earthquake tremors were felt in Delhi and adjoining areas including Faridabad, Gurugram and Noida, on Thursday.

The 6.1 magnitude earthquake hit Afghanistan's Hindu Kush region at 2:50 p.m.The epicentre of the quake was 213 kilometres deep.

The earthquake hit Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
"Earthquake of Magnitude:6.1, Occurred on 11-01-2024, 14:50:24 IST, Lat: 36.48 & Long: 70.45, Depth: 220 Km ,Location:  Afghanistan," said National Center for Seismology in a post on X.
 
The U.S. Geological Survey however said that the quake of magnitude 6.4 Richter stuck at a depth of 206.6 km 44 km SSW of Jurm in Afghanistan at 2:50 pm today.
 
There were no immediate reports of any injury or destruction.
 
Tremors were also felt in the South of the Pir Panchal region.
 
According to news reports, the tremors were also felt in Pakistan's Lahore, Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa cities.
