Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta was on Thursday assured of cooperation by leaders from both Opposition parties, AAP and Congress, who also urged her to expedite the disbursal of Rs 2,500 monthly financial assistance for the women of Delhi.
Atishi, the former Delhi Chief Minister and AAP legislator from Kalkaji, congratulated CM Gupta and her Cabinet ministers for their swearing-in and called for immediate action on the promised scheme. "I demand that the BJP government’s Cabinet pass the scheme to provide the promised Rs 2,500 to all women in Delhi," she said.
Atishi reminded the Chief Minister that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had encouraged women in Delhi to link their bank accounts with their mobile numbers, ensuring that they receive a confirmation message by March 8, confirming the transfer of the financial assistance.
Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President, Devender Yadav, also extended his support, wishing CM Gupta success in her tenure. He noted that Gupta, as a woman CM, has a strong role model in the late Sheila Dikshit, whose leadership transformed Delhi into a world-class city. Yadav criticised the previous administration's mismanagement, saying, "An ‘imposter’ ruined the Capital with corruption, misrule, and inefficiency for 11 years."

Yadav emphasised that Delhi Congress would fully cooperate if the new government takes immediate action to repair the damage done to the city’s infrastructure under the previous government. He also called on CM Gupta to fulfil the BJP’s election promise of holding accountable those who misappropriated taxpayers’ money through various scams, including the excise scam.
The Congress leader highlighted the challenge ahead for the new Chief Minister, urging her to address not only the deteriorating infrastructure, clean water supply, and air pollution but also to ensure that those responsible for Delhi’s financial mismanagement are brought to justice.
