Muslims across India are condemning the brutalripples of the brutal terrorist attack in the tourist town of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir in which 26 tourists were killed.

The dead also include a local Muslim from nearby village who was working as a porter for tourists to ekk out a livelihood.

According to sources in J&K police, four terrorists were involved in the attack on tourists. One of them was Aadil Guree who has, reportedly, come back from Pakistan and exfiltrated in 2018.

Another terrorist is recognised as Asif Sheikh. Two other terrorists committed terror along with Guree and Sheikh. They were Pakistan nationals. The terrorist outfit The Resistance Front (TRF), which is a front for the Pakistan-based LeT, has claimed responsibility. Out of many footage available snap below seems to be of a foreign (Pakistani) terrorist.

Police said the attackers made people recite Kalma and also asked some to lower their pants to identify their religion and shot dead non-Muslims.

Leading Muslim leaders, Ulema and organizations of the country have  condemned the attack and emphasized that linking “cruelty to religion” was not appropriate and in this case an insult to Islam.

Jamaat-e-Islami Hind President Syed Sadatullah Hussaini strongly criticized the attack and said: "This is a completely inhuman and condemnable act. Killing of innocent people, including foreign tourists, is not justified in any way. My sympathies are with the victim families. Those responsible should be brought to justice and given severe punishment."

Rajya Sabha MP and poet Imran Pratapgarhi also called the incident a "cowardly attack".

He wrote on X: "This incident is heartbreaking. My condolences to the victims and prayers for the injured. The government will now have to go beyond hollow claims and take accountability. The time has come to take concrete steps."

AIMIM spokesperson and vocal voice in TV debates Syed Asim Waqar said: "These people cannot be Muslims. They fired bullets on unarmed people, they are the children of Iblis. They should be treated the same way they treat innocent people. The Indian government should show the same brutality against them as they have shown."

Mumbai's Raza Academy and Sunni Jamiatul Ulema also said in a joint statement: "This attack is not only against humanity but also against the basic teachings of Islam. We strongly condemn this and demand from the government that such beasts should be rooted out."
