Like other parts of the country and the world, the people of Kashmir are also excited about Eid-ul-Fitr, which is expected to fall on March 31. On the last days of Ramzan, the markets in Srinagar are crowded with shoppers.

The buzz and festivities in the markets continue throughout the day.

The Mehndi artists are the most busy people around. Young and not-so-young women are seen waiting for their turn to dye their hands in designs of Mehndi at the roadside stalls of these artists.

The city's major shopping hubs - Lal Chowk, Residency Road, Polo View, and Ghon Khan Market - are witnessing huge crowds. Families are busy with their last round of shopping and the city streets have come alive with their laughter and conversations.

Men are seen buying kurtas, Pathani suits, and designer waistcoats at various shops.

At the same time, the younger generation prefers a fusion of modern and traditional clothing.

This year, the demand for modern designs has increased in the Eid market.

The air is filled with the aroma of fresh bakery goods, including golden sheermal, flaky bakarkhani, and soft kulchas.

People are busy shopping for traditional sweets like sevaiyan, phirni and zulbia to make their Eid feasts delicious.

Street vendors' shops also remain a center of attraction. Shops selling shiny bangles, glittering jewellery and fragrant perfumes are full of customers.   Crowds are also seen at shops selling children's toys and sweets.

Although inflation has increased this year, there has been no decrease in shoppers' enthusiasm.

Shopkeepers have decorated their shops with attractive lights and decorations, which added to the festive atmosphere in the markets. As the days of seeing the Eid moon are coming closer, the hustle and bustle in the markets is increasing.

For the people of Srinagar, Eid shopping is not just a tradition but also a symbol of joy and unity.
