The Allahabad High Court on Thursday granted bail to Ashish Mishra, prime accused in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence incident.
Mishra is the son of MoS Home Affairs Ajay Mishra.

A case was registered against Mishra for an incident that took place on October 3, when several farmers were holding protests against the visit of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya to Lakhimpur Kheri district.
Four protesting farmers were killed after they were mowed down by an SUV.
It is noteworthy that the decision comes in sync with the kicking off of the first phase of the UP elections, where people in 58 constituencies are voting.
