Muhammad Saad Kandhlawi, an Muslim scholar and preacher who heads a faction of the Tablighi Jamat has said Islam does not allow rebellion against the country under any circumstances. He said “a true Muslim cannot break the law or do anything against the country.”
He was addressing the three-day convention of the Tablighi Jamaat at Mewat, Haryana. Thousands of Muslims attended the convention in which the preachers and scholars reiterated the basic teachings of Islam, their social responsibilities and loyalty towards the nation.
Maulana Saad’s statement is important in view of the demonstrations being organized by even Members of Parliament against the waqf Amendment Act, 2025, passed by the Parliament.
Maulana Saad said, “Islam is a religion of peace and brotherhood, which does not allow rebellion against the country under any circumstances. He clearly said that a true Muslim cannot break the law or do anything against the country under any circumstances.
He appealed to the Muslim community to follow the principles of religion and spread the message of goodness and peace in the society.
Maulana Saad emphasized on Islamic pillars of Namaz, Roza, Zakat and Hajj and said that a perfect Muslim is one who follows the path shown by Prophet Muhammad.
He argued, "If you want to get your shoes stitched, you will have to go to a cobbler. Similarly, if you want guidance, you will have to walk to the mosque and on the path of Allah.."
