The book published by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch, Waqf Bill 2024: Respect for Islam and Gift for Muslims, has sparked a fresh round of debate on the proposed Waqf Management Act which is under the consideration of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) headed by senior MP Jagdambika Pal.

The book was launched at the residence of the JP Chairman Jagdambika Pal. Several prominent personalities attended the function.

 Referring to the book as an "eye-opening document," Pal stated that it delivers an important message not only to the Muslim community but to every segment of society.

Pal said, "This book provides a solid and practical roadmap to ensure transparency in managing Waqf properties and their use for the broader welfare of society." According to him, the book has the potential to raise awareness not only among the government but also the general public about the effective use of Waqf properties.

He added, "This initiative is the need of the hour to promote education, healthcare, and employment opportunities through Waqf properties, allowing them to play a crucial role in uplifting the Muslim community."

Pal clarified that the suggestions and facts presented in this book are being seriously considered for inclusion in the JPC report, aiming to present a balanced perspective for all sides.

The Book has been authored by Dr. Shahid Akhtar, Dr. Shalini Ali, Advocate Shiraz Qureshi, and senior journalist Shahid Sayeed. Pal praised them and said their efforts have laid a strong foundation for improving Waqf property management.

Pal called this book an "emerging historic document" that will serve as a guide not only for the Muslim community but for Indian society as a whole. The release event also highlighted how this book could drive awareness and equality alongside improvements in Waqf property management.

Iqbal Singh Lalpura, Chairman of the National Commission for Minorities, said Waqf Bill 2024: Respect for Islam and Gift for Muslims was a "historic step" for the Muslim community and the nation. “The book brings to light the real condition and need for transparency in Waqf property management, a topic previously hidden from the general public.”

 Lalpura added, "This book is essential for all Indian citizens who want to understand how Waqf properties can be effectively utilized." He pointed out that the book clarifies how, if managed properly, Waqf properties can serve as a significant resource dedicated to education, healthcare, and social welfare. Lalpura viewed this as an awareness campaign that would inspire not only the Muslim community but also other minority communities.

Senior RSS leader Ram Lal emphasized the relevance and timeliness of this book, describing it as "the need of the hour." He said the book would help foster awareness and self-reliance within the Muslim community.

"The idea of clean and transparent management of Waqf properties could benefit not only the Muslim community but the entire nation," Ram Lal remarked. He said this effort would inspire the Muslim community to utilize Waqf properties for the welfare of various sections of society.

Ram Lal also noted that this book helps society understand that Waqf properties are not private assets of any community but should be seen as a responsibility and legacy. "It provides a platform where the Muslim community can become aware not only of their resources but also of their rights and responsibilities," he said.

He said this initiative could prove to be a milestone in enhancing Waqf property management and serving society through them.

Both Lalpura and Ram Lal recognized the book as a significant step towards fostering social unity and harmony in the country, stating that it could serve as an inspiration for other communities. They saw it as a symbol of self-reliance and awareness for the Muslim community, marking a dedicated effort in nation-building.
