Playing yet another gimmick to keep the Kashmir issue alive, Pakistan’s new caretaker Prime Minister Anwarul Haq Kakar has appointed Mushal Hussain Malik, wife of JKLF terrorist who is facing trial for murder, terror funding and , etc. in India, as a minister in charge of human rights.

Mushal and her daughter Raziya Sultan live in Islamabad, Pakistan.

Mushal took oath along with 18 members of Pakistan's interim cabinet. However, due to her dual nationality, Mushal will not be a full-fledged minister but will work as a special advisor on human rights issues to PM Kakar, Pakistan media said.

In Pakistan only a Pakistani can become a full time minister.

Mushal is a graduate from the London School of Economics. She has been campaigning against India on human rights in Kashmir through social media.

She even allowed her 11-year old daughter to address the Assembly of the Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The young girl spoke against India and said “Karifs cannot keep Kashmir as it is meant for Muslims.”

Mushal Malik has been desperately seeking release of her husband from the prison and accusing the indian government of conspiring to kill him.

Yasin Malik is facing serious charges of murder of the four Indian Air Force Officers and abduction of dr Rubiya Saeed. The court has already awarded him life term in one of the cases. He is currently lodged in Tihar jail of Delhi.

Mushal has visited India once after her marriage. She is generally seen with suspicion in India and has not been granted visa to travel again.

By appointing Mushal Malik, the Pakistan government is trying to salvage whatever is left of its Kashmir policy and also to address the domestic criticism about Pakistan closing the Kashmir chapter.

Mushal belongs to a powerful political family. Her mother  rehama Hussain Malik is a leader of the PML(N) and her father MA Hussain Malik is a renowned economist.

The appointment will raise Mushal’s profile and also make Pakistanis believe they are serving the cause of Kashmir.
