Indians are paying tributes to their soldiers who laid down their lives defending country’s boundaries from the Pakistani invaders in the icy heights of Kargil in Ladakh 22 years ago.
The main function is being organized at the Kargil War Mermorial art Dras in Ladakh.
Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju was the fist leaders to arrive at the memorial and pay his tribute.

Bikers from Kashmir are due to arrive at the the memorial at Dras.
In Delhi, the three service chiefs - Army chief General Manoj Pande, Navy chief Admiral R Hari Kumar & Air Force chief Air Chief Marshal VR Chaudhari - lay wreaths at the National War Memorial in Delhi.

The Kargil war memorial has been decked up for the memorial at Drass.
