Addressing the large gathering of Muslims, Jagdambika Pal, Chairman of the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Amendment Act 2025, said that the Amended Waqf Act was a revolutionary step for the Muslim community and a golden opportunity to end the misunderstandings, corruption, and injustice of years.
Paul was speaking at the Eid Milan hosted by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch (MRM), an organ of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
He said: "It feels like the entire country has come together here to put its stamp on the Waqf Amendment Bill."
Pal who was instrumental in finalizing the JPC's recommendations on the draft of the bill, emphasized that the new law will not only ensure a transparent and accountable management of waqf properties, it will also help preserve the rights of the weakest and most deprived sections of society.
Terming the Waqf Amendment law as a revolutionary step for the Muslim community, Pal said that this law is a golden opportunity to end the misunderstandings, corruption, and injustice that have been going on for years.
Paul emphasized that this amendment will not only ensure transparent and accountable management of waqf properties but will also help in ensuring the rights of the weakest and most deprived sections of society.
He said that before preparing this bill, extensive consultations were held across the country, in which all classes, social organizations, and secular forces supported it.
Describing it as a positive and far-reaching step towards nation-building, Pal said that this law will further strengthen amity and national unity.
Speakers at the function unanimously called the Waqf Amendment Act a historic and revolutionary step for the Muslim community.
Prominent personalities like Muslim Rashtriya Manch Patron Indresh Kumar, JPC Chairman Jagdambika Pal, RSS Liaison Officer Ram Lal, National Commission for Minority Educational Institutions (NCMEI) Working President Dr. Shahid Akhtar, Muslim Rashtriya Manch National Convener Dr. Shalini Ali, former Delhi Waqf Board member Muhammad Afzal, Farooq Khan, Chhattisgarh Waqf Board Chairman Dr. Salim Raj, Haryana Waqf Board Chairman Zakir Hussain, former Rajasthan Minister Abu Bakar Naqvi, Sufi Ziarat Ali Malang of Sufi Khanqah Association, National Convener and Media Incharge Shahid Saeed, Reshma Hussain, Bilal-ur-Rehman, Girish Joyal, Imran Chaudhary, Hafiz Sabrin and Faiz Khan were present at the event.
Muslim Rashtriya Manch patron Indresh Kumar expressed his resolve to root out the misconceptions and rumours spread about the Waqf Amendment.
He announced that the Manch would hold more than 100 press conferences and 500 meetings across the country to convey the objectives and benefits of this law to every individual. "This law will further strengthen the rights of self-confidence, justice, and equality in the Muslim community," said Indresh Kumar.
Highlighting the long-standing misuse and mismanagement of Waqf properties, he said that this amendment will ensure their transparent and equitable use and benefit society.
Indresh Kumar said the new law was not against anyone, but in the interest of everyone and it will promote mutual trust and cooperation in Indian society.
RSS liaison officer Ram Lal termed the Waqf Amendment said the news law was an important step towards building trust and harmony in the Muslim community.
"This change will give new strength to Indian society and will play an important role in putting the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas' on the ground," he said.
Ram Lal stressed that the Waqf Amendment is not just a legal change, but a major step towards social and moral reform.
Ram Lal appealed to the people to spread the positive aspects of this law in their respective areas.
The meeting appreciated the book "Respect to Islam and Gift for Muslims" published by the Muslim Rashtriya Manch. The book is being considered as an important document for social cohesion and awareness. The Union Ministry of Minority Affairs has decided to distribute it to all the members of Parliament, which shows its wide acceptance and impact.
The speakers said that this book will play an important role in understanding the teachings of Islam and promoting harmony in society.
The Eid Milan event not only highlighted the importance of the Waqf Amendment Act, 2025 but also proved that all classes can work together for social reform and unity. The event sent a positive message across the country and created enthusiasm and awareness among the people towards the Waqf Amendment.
