Osman Mir's soulful Ram Bhajan gets praises from PM Modi

As the day for Pran Pratistha (consecration) ceremony at the Ram temple in Ayodhya is approaching Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been sharing his favourite Bhajan numbers in praise of Lord Ram on his social media handles; his latest is Shri Ramji Padhare sung by Osman Mir, a popular singer from Gujarat. 

He shared this bhajan not only on his social media platforms but also praised it on his blog 'Narendra Modi'. 

PM Modi even explained the the bhajan sung by noted Gujarati Singer Osman Mir is composed by Om Dave and Gaurang Pala.

Sharing the Bhajan on X he wrote: "There is excitement and joy everywhere regarding the arrival of Shri Ramji in Ayodhya city. You will get a divine experience after listening to this melodious Ram Bhajan of Osman Mir ji."

The Bhajan has garnered over 580.7K views after it was uplaoded on YouTube on January 9. 

Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had posted a Ram Bhajan of Vikas and Mahesh Kukreja on X.

Taking to X, Osman Mir expressed his gratefulness for getting attention from PM Modi. He wrote:

Osman Mir is a playback singer who has been singing in Hindi films since 2013. He sings in Hindi and Gujarati and has done playback singing in the mivoes in both the languages. The song Mor Bani Thanghat Kare from the film superhit Hindi film Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram Leela is his first Hindi film song (2013).

Osman Mir's first Gujarati song is the title song of the film Me To Chundadi Odhi Tara Naam Ni Jishke Naam. Its music was composer Edwin Vaz Appu.

The 49-year-old Osman Mir was born into a lower-class family in Vayor, Kutch, Gujarat. His father, Husenbhai, was a tabla player in Gujarati folk bhajans and Santvani. 

Osman Mir wasn interested in music since childhood.

He did his high school education at Bhulabhai Mansingh Vidyalaya, Leja, and left his studies after the 9th stabndard. He started learning tabla from his father at a very young age.

He started playing tabla in live programs with his father from the age of 13. He started his career as a tabla player with the late Narayana Swamy.

As a child Osman Mir was also interested in singing and learned singing from his father. 

Later, he joined Guru Ismail Datar for learning Indian classical singing.

Once, on Guru Purnima he went to sMorari Bapu's ashram in Talgajarda as a tabla player in a musical function, where Parthiv Bhai praised Osman's singing ability and introduced him to the spiritual guru who is revered by lakhs of people across the globe.

People who visit Morara Bapu's Ashram vouche for the spitirual Guru's love for Osman Mir. 

His first Bhajan at the Bapu's ashram was Dil Kaash Tera Naksha Hai. The audiences lapped it up and cheered for this young singer and in no time he became popular.

Deepak Dave organised Osman Mir's first public concert in Ahmedabad and it had a roaring response.

Osman Mir has mastery in all genres of singing:  bhajan, ghazal, semi-classical, and Gujarati-folk. He has rendered numbers as aplayback singer in 58 Gujarati movies so far.
