New Delhi
All India Majlis-e-Itihadul Muslameen (AIMIM) Chief, Asaduddin Owaisi, who is also a Member of the Lok Sabha, has issued an ambiguous statement on the government’s action of imposing a five-year ban on the Popular Front of India (PFI).
Taking to Twitter, he says: While I have always opposed PFI's approach and supported the democratic approach, this ban on PFI cannot be supported.
"PFI ban cannot be supported," and yet, "Actions of some individuals who commit a crime does not mean that the organisation itself must be banned."
In a series of messages on Twitter he also said:

“We should remember that Congress amended UAPA to make it stringent & when BJP amended the law to make it even more draconian, Congress supported it.”
He asked, “How come PFI is banned but organizations associated with convicts of Khaja Ajmeri bomb blasts aren’t? Why has govt not banned the right-wing majoritarian organizations?”

He was referring to the blast near the dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisty in Ajmer in which some Hindu organisation was allegedly involved.
