Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated the Grand Mufti and a great Sunni leader Sheikh Aboobaker Ahmed Kanathapuram of Kerala for bagging the prestigious Ma’al Hijrah Award of Malaysia for the dedicated work towards Islamic scholarship that made him the most influential Muslim scholar in the world.

The Gran Mufti met Prime Minister Modi in Delhi on Saturday. PM told him, “We celebrate the achievement of an individual whose life's work has touched the hearts of many.”
