In what comes as a proud moment for the Indian civilization and culture, the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation has included Ram Charit Manas, Panchatantra, and Sahridayalok-Lokan in memory of the World Asia-Pacific Regional Register.
This inclusion reaffirms India’s rich literary and cultural heritage. It marks a step forward in global cultural preservation efforts, highlighting the importance of recognizing and protecting the diverse narratives and artistic expressions that shape our shared humanity.
According to a government handout, “By honoring these literary masterpieces, society not only pays tribute to the creative genius of their authors but also ensures that their profound wisdom and timeless teachings continue to inspire and enlighten future generations.”

'Ramcharitmanas', 'Panchantra' and'Sahridayalok-Lokan' are classic works that have deeply influenced Indian literature and culture, shaping the moral fabric and artistic expressions of the country. These literary works have transcended time and space and left an indelible mark on readers and artists both within and outside India.
It is noteworthy that Sahridayalok-Lokan, Panchantra, and 'Ramcharitmanas' were composed by Pt. Acharya Anandvardhan, Vishnu Sharma, and Goswami Tulsidas respectively.

Experts from 38 countries at UNESCO meet at Ulaanbaatar, Magnolia
The gathering, held in Ulaanbaatar, Magnolia, brought together 38 representatives of member states, along with 40 observers and nominees. Advocating the three Indian nominations, IGNCA ensured their placement in 'UNESCO's Memory of the World Asia-Pacific Regional Register'.

This is the first time that IGNCA has submitted a nomination to the regional register since its inception in 2008. After undergoing intensive deliberations and receiving recommendations from the Register Subcommittee (RSC) and subsequent voting by representatives of member countries, all three nominations were included, thereby marking significant Indian entries before the establishment of the Register in 2008. to be done.
