Religious leaders representing various minority sections of the country met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar in the Parliament.

Later they watched the proceedings of Parliament from the visitors' gallery.

The visitors included the Chief Imam of All India Imam Organization, Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, who recently attended the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple at Ayodhya, and Syed Salman Chisthy, Gaddinashin of the Ajmer Sharif Dargah.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote about the meeting on X and also posted pictures of the occasion. he wrote Delighted to meet a delegation of religious leaders in Parliament today. I thank them for their kind words on the development trajectory of our nation.

Ilyasi told media persons before meeting the Prime Minister, "Paigaam-e-mohabbat hai, paigaam desh hai. (Our mission is the message of love; the message of the nation)".

Himani Sood, the founder of the Indian Minority Foundation said that they want to tell the world that India is one.

"Today the Indian Minority Organisation has reached the Parliament with various religious leaders. We want to tell everyone that India is one", Sood said.

Meanwhile, PM Modi is scheduled to reply to the Motion of Thanks to the President's Address in Lok Sabha on Monday at 5 p.m.
