Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday stated that India requires strong leadership to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, and that the School of Ultimate Leadership (SOUL) will play a crucial role in this endeavour.
His remarks came following the inauguration of the first edition of the SOUL Conclave in New Delhi.
Addressing the Conclave at Bharat Mandapam, PM Modi said: "To increase the momentum of growth, we need world-class leaders, and for this, institutions like SOUL can prove to be a game-changer."
He highlighted India's emergence as a global powerhouse, asserting: "The country needs energetic leaders in every sector who can find solutions to global needs."
In reference to the establishment of SOUL, the Prime Minister described it as a significant step towards realising the Viksit Bharat vision for 2047.
PM Modi also shared that Swami Vivekananda had envisioned 100 energetic young individuals to transform India, stating: "We need the same power and mantra to move forward."
He added, "In every realm, we need the best leaders—not only political leaders but leaders in every field. SOUL has the potential to develop the leadership required for the 21st century. SOUL pass-outs may go on to become top political leaders."
The Prime Minister stressed the need to make India’s governance and policy-making world-class, which, he said, will only be possible when policymakers, bureaucrats, and entrepreneurs align their decisions with global standards. "If we are to make Viksit Bharat, we must advance in all areas... We must not only aspire for excellence but also achieve it," he said.

SOUL, a leadership institution based in Gujarat, aims to foster authentic leaders who can serve the public good. Its mission is to broaden the scope of political leadership by offering formal training to individuals who rise through merit, commitment, and a passion for public service, rather than political lineage.
The SOUL Conclave, which concludes on Saturday, seeks to foster collaboration and thought leadership, facilitating learning from both failures and successes to inspire young audiences. The event will bring together individuals from various fields to discuss key aspects of leadership.
