“Allah, there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. He will certainly gather all of you together on the Day of Judgment—about which there is no doubt. And whose word is more truthful than Allah’s?” The Holy Quran 4:87

In Islam, the day of judgment, also known as “Yawm al-Qiyamah” is a significant belief. This is when all of humanity and jinns will be resurrected and brought before Allah, or God, and will be judged for their deeds and actions in their earthly life. Moreover, this is the day when the world will end, and the forever period of the afterlife will commence.

The Day of Judgment marks the end of times. On this day, everything Allah created will cease to exist as Hazrat Israfeel blows the trumpet, ending everything in the universe.

Humans and Jinns will then be resurrected as Hazrat Israfeel blows the trumpet again, gathering on the plain of Arafat to face judgment by Allah, The Almighty. Every human and jinn, regardless of belief, will be naked and given a ‘record of their deeds,’ which they must read aloud, concealing nothing; a testament to the absolute fairness of Allah, The Exalted. Those receiving the record in the right hand will go to heaven, and those on the left will go to Hell.

The Day of Judgment, which will bring “death” to the universe just like the death of people, is a matter that people do not like to think about; rather, they consider it as a remote and distant matter. They have a vague idea of what will happen on that Day, but since the thought of it scares them, people are inclined to forget about it. Rather than facing up to it, they just get on with their lives instead.

The Day of Judgment is the final day of life on Earth and for the universe. But at the same time, it is the beginning of the eternal life in the Hereafter. On that Day, people will be resurrected, created anew.

Unbelievers will be sent to Hell, but believers in Allah and the Hereafter will be welcomed in Paradise. Therefore, it makes no sense to flee from death, the Day of Judgement, or the Hereafter for those who anticipate such a Day and are fully aware of what it signifies.

(Not so! All who submit themselves completely to Allah and are good-doers will find their reward with their Lord. They will feel no fear and no sorrow.)- Quran 2:112

People who held onto their faith in this Day, the Quran, and the notion that this existence is only a simulation while they were still living will be protected. They were not too conceited to worship Allah and they did not deny that death existed. Such people will enjoy the best treatment in the Hereafter, and they will be accompanied by Allah's illuminating light on the Day of Judgement.The faithful are given the good news in the Quran, as follows:

(…on the Day when Allah will not disgrace the prophet and those who believed along with him. Their light will stream out ahead of them and on their right. They will say: ‘Our Lord, perfect our light for us and forgive us! You have power over all things.)66:8

Death is coming closer by the day. Whether you are young or old, death is a little closer to you every day, even every minute. You cannot resist time or prevent death’s approach. Nothing you do can change the fact that you and those close to you are only “temporary” beings. Like every other living being, you are advancing toward the Day on which your life will end.{And the Hour is coming without any doubt, and Allah will raise up all those in the graves. (Quran 22:7)

Everything on Earth will be flattened, the stars will be extinguished and fall in rapid succession, and the Sun will be wrapped up in darkness. All human beings who have ever lived will be gathered and made to witness this Day. This Final Day will be dreadful for the unbelievers, and its Lord will be Allah, who owns all that exists.

Thus, this worldly life can never give you the sense of contentment and peace you expect. When this “satisfying” life ends, you will come face to face with the truth. Given this fact, none of your life ambitions should become your true purpose in life. This life is a temporary trial to separate the righteous from the evildoers. (He Who created death and life to test which of you is best in action. He is the Almighty, the Ever-Forgiving.) - Quran 67:2
