Indian ultra-runner Sufiya Sufi Khan has embarked on her new mission – she is undertaking a round of Qatar, the country that recently hosted the FIFA World Cup.

Sufiya Sufi is a three-time Guinness World Record holder and is attempting yet another time. She posted her image of running through the desert on Twitter:

Before starting the campaign, she met the Indian Ambassador to Qatar Deepak Mittal. She said this meeting was an honour for her.

Her two-day campaign started on January 12, at 6 AM from Abu Samra and will end at Al-Rawais on January 13.

Sufiya will cover a distance of 190 plus km on the adventure. She will try to break the current world record by covering the distance in less than 34 hours while fighting against the environment and dry weather conditions.

Sufiya Sufi, 37, is an Indian ultrarunner known for her ultra-distance running challenges across the country.

She gained attention in 2019 after becoming the fastest woman runner to complete the 4,000 km Trans India Running Challenge in just 87 days.

She holds world records for being the fastest runner to complete the 6,000 km Golden Quadrilateral Road Run, the Manali-Leh Himalayan Ultra Run Challenge, and the Siachen-Kargil Ultra Run.

Sufiya holds three Guinness World Records for longest-distance travel.

Recently, Sufiya Khan registered her name in the Guinness Book of Records. It is said that when your intentions are true, no destination is beyond one’s reach.

Khan has become a living example of mental and physical stamina. She set a Guinness World Record for the fastest journey of 6,002 km on India's longest quadrilateral highway in 110 days.

When she was 35-year-old Sufiya started running as it was her passion. She left her government job 5 years ago to become a full-time runner.

She has completed the journey from Kashmir to Kanyakumari.

Challenges are nothing new for Sufiya Sufi Runner. After recording her name in the Guinness Book of World Records for the third time earlier this year, Sofia has geared up for a new campaign, dubbed 'The Tribute Run'.
