On the 76th anniversary of India's Independence, the people in Jodhpur city of Rajasthan saw a wonderful speactacle of a mosque and a temple being joined with a 256 feet Tricolour amidst chanting of slogans of unity and glory to India by an all-religion procession.
People from all walks including Hindus and Muslims walked hand in hand holding the national flags from a Shri Juna Khedapati Temple temple to the Chiraghar Madani Masjid located opposite to each other on a busy road of the city.

The march was the brainchild of Sufi leader Syed Naseruddin Chishty, spiritual Head of Ajmer Dargah and Chairman of All India Sufi Sajjadanashin Council.It may be reaclled that Jodhpur had seen clashes and communal tension last month.
Chishty and the priest of the local Shri Juna Khedapati Temple and Imam of the Chiraghar Madani Masjid walked from temple to the mosque in a procession holding a 256 feet long tricolour to make a symbolic bridge of love and brotherhood.”

Addressing the people, Chishty said this march signifies peace the unbreakable bond of Indians, people of all communities.”
He said: “We are lucky to be born in a free country and celebrating the Amrit Mohotsav.”

“This unity is the jewel in the crown of India; this is our strength.” He asked the youth to work for this unity and never let enemies of India get better of them.

He challenged all those with nefarious designs to break the bond of the people of India.
