Bindass Cricket Club of Uri has won the Uplona Rashtriya Rifles Bindass Premier League organized in the memory of constable Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh also called Bindass, who laid down his life during an encounter with Pakistani terrorists in May at Kreeri, Baramulla.
Mudasir died after killing all three terrorists that was inaur\gurated on July 23 by SSP Baramulla Rais Mohiu Din Bhat.
All 24 teams participated in the league. Bindass Cricket Club, a team named after Mudasir Sheikh emerged as the winner, while Sunrise Abu Bakr finished runner-up and FCC Fatehpura were declared the second runners-up.

Speaking on the occasion, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Rais Mohiu Din Bhat said that Mudasir alias Bindass made a supreme sacrifice for the country. The young generation of the country should emulate the real hero Mudasir.
On this occasion, SSP also presented a token of respect to Mohammad Maqsoof Sheikh, father of constable Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh. It may be noted that on 24 July, the Bindass Premier League (BPL) organized by Uplona Rashtriya Rifles in memory of martyr constable Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh was inaugurated.
GOC's Force Maj Gen SS Salaria presented a token of honor to Mohammad Maqsood Sheikh, father of martyr constable Mudasir Ahmed Sheikh, during the opening ceremony of the tournament.
