Celebrated talk show host-philanthropist Oprah Winfrey found herself on the other side of the mic for a change when she appeared as a guest on Hollywood star Drew Barrymore's chat show recently.
Oprah, in her open remarks thanked Drew Barrymore for her innovative idea and was quoted saying "You changed my life". She further went on reminiscing the time she saw Drew Barrymore using the green screen technology and importing guests virtually on her show and decided to use the same format with the debutant guest being Barak Obama.
Barrymore was certainly overwhelmed and thanked her for liking and promoting the show on her social media formats, she further went on saying how she was scared as a girl, as a woman, as a female, (the line that followed the three words was "I don't know who I am", this indeed garnered a lot of laughter and somewhere hinted upon the thin line that stated how risky and full of chances this new normal is when attached with a lady overall), when asking the bosses for investing the money and how grateful she was to them for allowing her to do this.
They talked about the new normal and how technology is advancing with the ease of reaching out to people all over the world.
On the "The Drew Barrymore Show", Winfrey opened up on dealing with trauma. "I know this for sure that whatever has happened to you can also be for you. I endured suffering to survive as a child and turning that inside out," she said.
Winfrey said she created a school looking for girls who are like her, "So that is why I created my school specifically looking for girls who are just like me. Girls who came from poor backgrounds, who came from dysfunctional backgrounds and many times felt unwanted. I thought, how do I create an environment for them, how do I give back. This is how you save yourself!" she said on the show, which airs on Zee Cafe in India.
Though they were hopeful of going back to the studios but agreed upon finding new solutions in order to adjust in the new normal.
