According to media reports, former Afghanistan President Ashraf Ghani's brother, Hashmat Ghani Ahmadzai, has announced his support for the Taliban.

A video of the meeting has also surfaced on social media.

On Sunday, Ashraf Ghani had fled Afghanistan along with his family after the Taliban captured the capital city of Kabul.

In a video message, Ashraf Ghani said he fled Kabul to 'avoid bloodshed'. "Rumours that I left with a lot of money are completely baseless. They are a lie. You can verify this with the UAE customs” Ghani said.
