The Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for hijacking the Jaffar Express in the Bolan district of Pakistan, taking 120 passengers hostage and killing six military personnel. The militant group has issued a stark warning, threatening to execute all hostages if any military operation is launched against them.
According to Times Now News, a statement released by the BLA, the attack was a "meticulously planned operation" executed in Mashkaf, Dhadar, Bolan. The group reported that its fighters detonated explosives on the railway track, bringing the Jaffar Express to a halt before seizing control of the train and taking passengers captive.
In its statement, the BLA declared, "If the occupying forces attempt any military operation, the consequences will be severe. All hundreds of hostages will be executed, and the responsibility for this bloodshed will lie solely with the occupying forces."
The attack was reportedly carried out by the BLA's specialized units, including the Majeed Brigade, STOS, and Fateh Squad. The group further warned that any military intervention would be met with a strong retaliatory response.
Confirming the casualties, the BLA stated, "So far, six military personnel have been killed, and hundreds of passengers remain under BLA custody."
BLA spokesperson Jeeyand Baloch reiterated that the organization takes "full responsibility for this operation," underscoring the group's defiance against government forces.
