Dr. Umar Ahmed Ilyasi, head of the All India Imam Organization (AIIO), and a popular islamic preacher on social media has condemned the violence against Hindus in Bangladesh and the arrest of saint and activist Chinmoy Krishna Das. He said, "What is happening in Bangladesh is a sad situation and cannot be condemned enough."

Dr. Umar Ahmed Ilyasi said, "I am very worried about the current situation in Bangladesh, especially the atrocities being committed against the minority community there, especially the Hindus.

This is a very sad situation and it cannot be condemned enough. I strongly condemn such incidents. We must remember that Bangladesh and India are neighbouring countries that have always been together. India has always helped Bangladesh, whether it is for their infrastructure or the well-being of their citizens.

In the circumstances that have arisen today, there is a need for peace and harmony. The oppression and atrocities being committed against Hindus should be stopped immediately. In this matter, I appeal to Bangladesh government advisor Mohammad Yunus to take immediate action on this.

He said, "Strict action should be taken against those who are trying to spoil the situation and are committing atrocities and they should be given severe punishment. I especially appeal to the Imams of all the mosques of Bangladesh to give the message of peace and harmony in their sermons on Friday prayers and other days.

Islam is a religion of peace, which always talks about peace and harmony. We should follow the true teachings of Islam and avoid all forms of violence. I also appeal to the United Nations, UNHRC, and other human rights organizations to intervene in this matter and raise their voice against the atrocities happening in Bangladesh.

Today we need to understand that we are humans first, then followers of a religion. It is our responsibility to serve humanity and promote brotherhood, whether we are Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, or Christians."

He said, "I appeal to the Bangladesh administration to immediately release ISKCON priest Chinmay Krishna Maharaj. What was his crime that he has been put in jail? Apart from this, his security should be ensured given the murderous attack on his lawyer Raman Roy. The administration should take responsibility for the safety of all minorities in Bangladesh.

"I once again appeal to all the Imams and religious leaders of Bangladesh to give the message of peace and harmony in their prayers, so that peace and unity prevails in Bangladesh. We all should take steps together to improve the current situation in Bangladesh in the right direction.
