Jeddah
National Security Advisor Ajit Doval reached Jeddah on Sunday to attend a meeting on enhancing growth and stability in the Middle-East region. He was received by his Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
Along with Ajit Doval also attending the meeting is US NSA Jack Sullivan.
Attending the meeting from the US side were US Ambassdor to Saud Arabia Michael Ratney, US National Security Council Coordinator for the Middle East Brett McGurk and Senior National Security Advisor Ariana Berengaut.
Discussed at the meeting was the ambitious proposal to connect the western Asian countries with a rail network using Indian expertise and connecting South Asia through Sea lanes.
According to reports, the White House is keen to push this project as it aims to counter China’s growing influence in the region.

Doval is in Jeddah to discuss advancement of shared vision for a stable and prosperous middle-east. The NSAs of India, USA, UAE and Saudi Arabia have agreed to follow-up issues discussed at the meeting.
