President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih will pay an official visit to India from August 1 to 4.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs, President Solih would be accompanied by a high level official and business delegation. During the visit, President Solih will meet the President of India and hold talks with the Prime Minister.The External Affairs Minister will call on President Solih. Besides his official engagements in New Delhi, President Solih will be holding discussion with an Indian business delegation.The MEA said that President Solih will also visit Mumbai to participate in business events.
Announcing the viist, MEA Official Spokesperson, Arindam Bagchi said that Maldives is India's key neighbour in the Indian Ocean region and occupies a special place in India's Neighbourhood First policy. In recent years, the partnership has witnessed rapid growth in all areas of cooperation and President Solih’s upcoming official visit will provide an opportunity for the two leaders to review the progress made in this wide ranging partnership. He said that the visit will also lend further momentum to the strong partnership.
