Kupwara
Because of personal and timely intervention of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Dr. Doifode Sagar Dattatray, a pregnant lady, who was in need of spcialised treatment, was airlifted from Tangdar to Srinagar today morning , thereby saved the life of the patient as reported in a local newspaper of Kashmir.
A 38 year pregnant lady, Nusrat begum, wife of Ali Asgar, from Chitterkote, block Teetwal in Karnah subdivision of Kupwara district was admitted to SDH Tangdar for her treatment, late yester evening.
During the treatment doctors required specialized treatment of the patient at Srinagar. This information was brought to Deputy Commissioner Kupwara through SDM Karnah.
The Deputy Commissioner put his all possible efforts and managed a chopper from the Army. The chopper, arranged could not make landing at Tangdar Helipad due to poor visibility.

After painstaking efforts of Army and District Administration Kupwara, the operation continued today.
The patient was today morning airlifted from Tangdar Helipad in presence of SDM Karnah, Dr. Gulzar Ahmad, Tehsildar and SHO.
The patient was accompanied by one Medical Officer and one Attendant from SDH Tangdar.
The family member and the local people of Karnah subdivision have widely hailed the efforts of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Indian Army , SDM Karnah and BMO for their timely intervention in airlifting the patient.
