Rijiju says viewing Nabwi Mosque spiritual, humbling experience

Minister of parliamentary affairs and Minority Affairs Kiren Rijiju who visited Madhina to oversee arrangements for Indian pilgrims to Hajj spoke of his “humbling and spiritual experience’ in the city which is home to the holiest and on the oldest mosques

Rijiju who is a Buddhist by faith is currently in Saudi Arabia where he signed the deal for Hajj pilgrimage and also oversaw arrangements for the forthcoming pilgrimage where india sends the second highest number of pilgrims.

He also met the deputy Governor of Madhina region to discuss arrangement for the Indian hajj pilgrims.

Earlier Rijiju signed a Bilateral Agreement for Haj-2025 defining the broad contours of the Haj pilgrimage for Indian pilgrims with Minister and the Saudi Minister of Hajj & Umrah H.E. Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan AlRabiah.

As per the agreement a quota of 1,75,025 has been earmarked for India.

The Union Minister also attended the inaugural session of the 4th edition of the Hajj &Umrah Conference and Exhibition organised by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj &Umrah at Jeddah.

This international conference is organised annually and includes sessions and workshops by key decision makers, experts and researchers in the Haj & Umrah services sector and offers insights on the best practices and facilitates exchange of ideas and information.
