Adeeba Ali of Hazrat Nizamuddin area of New Delhi has won gold and silver medals in the 66th National Shooting Championship competitions in pistol shooting at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. The competition organised by The National Rifle Association of India is currently in progress.
Adeeba’s achievement is extraordinary given the fact that she is a wheelchair-bound shooter and competes in the normal category.
Her house at Nizamuddin is brimming with happiness as relatives, neighbours and friends are pouring in with congratulatory messages, the parents are distributing sweets a garlanding Adeeba. People can be seen offering prayers as gratitude to the almighty for her success.

For Adeeba Ali's parents Asghar Ali and Reshma Ali it is a moment of pride. "She has worked so hard for many years,” says Asghar Ali.
Asghar Ali said it was four years ago, Adeeba was peeping from the balcony of their fourth floor apartment when she lost her balance and fell on the ground. She was badly injured and ended up losing her ability to walk.
“Despite her disability, we encouraged Adeeba to learn shooting and then we saw her brimming with enthusiasm,” he said.

Asghar Ali says Adeeba did not lose courage and started studying the lives of disabled people with the help of books, internet, and tried to know how they rebuild their lives.
“She tried to learn what they spend their time on and how they can make themselves successful. All this increased Adeeba's enthusiasm.
Adeeb has participated in many competitions at the district level and has also won nine medals.

She is a third-year BA student at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU). Apart from participating in sports, Adeeba also pays special attention to his studies.
Adeeba thanked her parents and coach Subhash Rana fopr her success.
To the youth, she says: They should always work hard and focus on their goals.
On her future plans, she said she wants to win a gold medal at the international level.
