Yet another Kashmiri youth has joined the ranks of militants leaving his family in a state of shock and disbelief.
A heartbreaking video of his Srinagar downtown family – parents, uncle, aunts, cousins, brother – crying and asking the 19-year old Mehran Yaseen Shalla to return home, has surfaced on the social media.
The family said Mehran had left home at around 7.15 pm on May 18. He apparently told his mother he would be back in shortly and never returned.
“We kept calling on his mobile till and we realized he had left his mobile in his room. We were devastated.” Mehran’s elder brother is seen saying this on the video while his parents are sitting there are visibly in a state of shock.
Mehran’s mother is holding a mobile camera with his picture on its screen.
His father Mohammad Yaseen is seen breaking down, calling Mehran’s name and askin him in Kashmiri how he think they will survive without him (Mehran).
A local news agency has circulated his family appeal on social media and posted it on Twitter:

The brother also breaks down while narrating how the next day a video circulating in social media platforms in which Mehran was seen saying he has joined a ‘tanzeem’ (terrorist organization) had broken the family.
The brother and the family living in Jamalatta, downtown Srinagar, have appealed to the heads of the Tanzeem that Mehran has reportedly joined to let him go.
Another video of the family posted by local news agency shows the relatives wailing and repeatedly asking Mehran to come home.
The same night he went missing Mehran’s family report it to the police. The police have assured help
