In the Chhatarpur town of Madhya Pradesh, Rafat Khan was leaving his house for the mosque for offering namaz when he came to know that he could save a life. This 36-year-old took a detour and reached the district hospital where he donated blood to a 60-day baby suffering from acute anemia.

He received a call from his friend Vikas Gupta that a child needed a rare blood group to be able to survive.

The child was suffering from anemia. His life was in danger due to the lack of healthy red blood cells.

Khan said, “Without thinking much, I picked up my motorcycle and reached the district hospital to donate blood to the sick child.”

Khan said that the child's father Jitendra of Manoria village had approached Vikas Gupta as he was in urgent need of blood. He had already been cheated by a middle-man.

He told Gupta that the broker had taken Rs 750 from him on the promise that he will arrange blood. He never did it.

Jitendra said, “After Khan donated blood, my son's condition started improving. He came like an angel and donated for my child.”
